At 4Sswimschool we have a fantastic team of teachers, Linda Sprigge, Jackie Reeves, Jess Glassford and Karen Yeowell, who between them have over 100 years of teaching experience. We also have 4 lovely assistants Annabel West – Wilson, Nick Shackell, Eliza Glassford and Georgia Mickell. We all feel very passionately about swimming and the way it is taught and wish to share our knowledge of this important life skill with your child/children.
I am so proud to be working alongside my sister Jackie at 4sswimschool.
I have been involved with swimming all my life, I started swimming for Crawley Swimming Club at the age of 10 years old and I’m still swimming for them now and helping out with some coaching. I still swim for Sussex and the GB Masters , I have swum in the European and World Championships and come away with medals. Last year I was ranked in the top 10 lady swimmers in my age group for the 200m breaststroke and I am currently ranked 1st in the country for the same discipline in a short course pool.
I live alone but have 2 wonderful children and 3 adorable granddaughters who I absolutely adore.
Apart from swimming I have just learnt to paddle board and when the weather and conditions are right I find peace and a calm just paddling on the water. I also like cooking and keeping my garden neat and tidy.
I am level 2 qualified and have my NPLQ, teaching swimming is such an important life skill and every child should in my opinion learn to swim if only for a short distance.
Thank you for taking time to read about myself and I look forward to seeing you in the pool soon.
My name is Jackie Reeves and along with my sister Linda Sprigge founded 4S Swim School in December 2013.
I have always been passionate about swimming and as a young girl trained every morning before school for Crawley Swimming Club. I went on to compete in galas and competitions for both the club and the county and was Sussex Breaststroke Champion at the age of 10.
I live in Horsham with my husband and 2 of my 3 sons . I trained as a swimming teacher when Luke was a baby having given up my job as an Air Hostess to become a full-time mum.
We pride ourselves at 4S Swim School as being the best swim school in the Southeast of England and it gives me great pleasure and satisfaction to teach children to swim and see the progression they make under our expert tuition. Our lessons are fun and enjoyable whilst providing the fundamentals of each stroke.
When I am not in the pool I enjoy baking, gardening, keeping fit and walking my dog, Archie.
My name is Jessica Glassford I’m 17 years old and very passionate about swimming. I started swimming lessons and the age of 4 and joined a competitive club in Horsham at 9 and have been there ever since. Over these years I have swam at county, regional and national level competitions.
I am very passionate about teaching all ages the important life skill of knowing how to swim, passing down my knowledge and experience of swimming whilst making my lessons fun is something I strive to achieve.
When I am not teaching swimming I am often training or competing, and also enjoy spending time with friends and family.
I have been swimming from a very young age, along side my sister Jessica. I believe swimming is an essential life skill and one every child should enjoy.
I am currently studying my A levels in maths, physics and economics, and in my free time I often find myself in the gym, at football games and spending time with family and friends.
I feel very lucky to be able to help and encourage the children to grow into confident swimmers!
I have been swimming with Linda and Jackie since I was 3 years old, which has enabled me to obtain my level 10 Qualification. Since this I have expanded my qualifications to gain my:
• National Pool Lifeguard Qualification(NPLQ) (Gen.10) Level 3.
• Automated External Defibrillator Qualification (AED).
I enjoy passing on my knowledge, skills and supporting the swimmers in the lessons. I find it very rewarding to see the swimmers develop and grow in confidence in the water.
Out of the pool I enjoy keeping fit, healthy and socialising.
My name is Hannah Jenks and swimming has been part of my life since the age of three. Where I was actually taught by Linda! From my very first lessons, I was hooked—and that love only grew stronger as I trained and competed up to county level. The pool quickly became a second home, and the discipline, focus, and joy I found in swimming have stayed with me ever since.
In 2011, I turned that passion into a career, beginning my journey as a swimming teacher. I now teach at Brighton College in Handcross, where I have the privilege of helping swimmers of all ages and abilities build confidence in the water and develop strong, safe technique.
As a parent to two small children, I know just how important it is to nurture a child’s confidence, especially around water. I bring that same care and patience into every lesson, creating a positive environment where swimmers can learn, grow, and have fun.
Swimming isn’t just a sport to me—it’s a lifelong skill, a passion, and now something I get to share with others every day. I am delighted to be a part of the 4S Team!
My name is Emily Hawks. I’m 14 and I started swimming lessons at the age of 4. I fell in love with it instantly! I have been swimming ever since and now train and compete for East Grinstead swim club.
I’m so happy to be helping other children learn how to swim and to be confident in the water.
When I’m not in the water, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I also have an interest in music, and I play the piano in my free time too.
Linda and Jackie started teaching me how to swim when I was 4 years old and I have loved it ever since. People often say how much I smile when I am swimming and it was true right back to this age. I completed all 10 of my swim England badges and now I am 14 training and competing at East Grinstead swim club at regional level.
When I am not swimming I enjoy netball, paddle boarding and art.
I am so happy to be able to teach other children to learn to love swimming just as much as I do.
I started swimming at 4S Swim School at a very early age and therefore have grown up loving the water and have become a very confident swimmer. I believe swimming is an essential skill in life which everyone should learn in order to keep children safe while in the water as well as having fun. I am looking forward to helping children gain confidence in the water. In my free time I enjoy keeping fit, running and when I have time reading as well. I also train and play hockey for my local club.
